L — Listening
An A–Z | Week 12 of 26
Listening is underrated. It’s the quiet art of not interrupting—someone else, or ourselves.
With Mem, listening means I stop trying to wrestle a chapter into shape and let it show me what it’s carrying. I notice where the energy is. Where it goes flat. Where a sentence rings true and where it starts performing.
Listening asks for patience. It also asks for humility: the story knows things I don’t yet know.
This week I’m practicing listening the way we do in intimate relationships—softening my grip, letting the truth arrive in its own timing.
