Open is not the same as exposed. Open is willingness—the softening that lets something real happen.
In relationships, openness is what allows repair, intimacy, surprise. With Mem, it’s what allows a chapter to become more than a tidy report.
Open, this week, means I don’t over-control the draft. I don’t pre-emptively explain. I let the mess have its say before I start cleaning it up.
Openness is a risk, yes. But it’s also a relief. It’s the moment the writing can breathe.
Open doesn’t mean unguarded. Just willing.
